What led you to this career?
My journey into the engineering field was a natural progression, deeply rooted in a family legacy of engineering professionals. With a background enriched by the industrial complexities of the mining sector, my decision to pursue a bachelor’s degree was both a personal aspiration and a nod to my heritage. The intricate dance of logic and creativity that engineering embodies resonated with my innate curiosity and passion for innovation. Working in the engineering sector in Australia, I continue to be inspired by the challenges and triumphs that come with each project. It is this continuous pursuit of knowledge and the desire to contribute to the built environment that has led me to this rewarding career path.
What’s one thing that surprised you about working at HR Design?
One aspect of working at HR Design Consulting Engineers that has been exceptionally rewarding is the company’s profound dedication to fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaborative spirit. In an environment where knowledge-sharing is second nature, I’ve had the opportunity to expand my technical repertoire, notably through mastering sophisticated tools like Revit. This has been a remarkable shift from my experiences in the industrial sectors of Brazil, which were often characterized by more rigid, compartmentalized processes. The open exchange of ideas and interdisciplinary teamwork at HR Design has not only enhanced my professional development but has also considerably elevated the calibre and efficacy of our projects. It underlines the importance of varied perspectives in devising engineering solutions. My colleagues’ readiness to provide insights and assistance is a testament to HR Design’s commitment to collective achievement and cutting-edge innovation.
In another life, I’m pretty sure I was a pilot.
With a profound fascination for aerodynamics and the physics of flight, I envision myself as a pioneering pilot in a past existence, exploring uncharted skies with the same fervour and precision that I currently apply to my engineering endeavours.
