Jordan began his engineering career through studying at the University of Queensland where he completed his bachelor of Civil Engineering. He has previously worked in the mining industry where he worked as a consultant focused on steel design, lifting and jacking studies and project planning. Jordan joined HR design in mid 2021 following a career break backpacking around the world and is now developing his skills with us a structural engineer.

Jordan has worked with a wide range of Australian Standards and has developed skills in engineering software tools including AutoCAD, Revit, Spacegass and Ansys during his career.

What led you to this career?

I’ve always had an interest in maths, physics and how things work throughout school and was looking for a challenging and rewarding industry to apply this to. Engineering fit the bill.

What do you like most about your job?

Being consistently challenged to learn new things and further my understanding in order to become a better engineer.

If I weren’t so good at my job, I’d probably still be a…  ski or beach bum.

The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is “♪ don’t worry, be happy ♪”.
